Getting My Dream Job

It’s been a hot minute since I last wrote anything in my blog!

Coincidentally a couple of days ago, two of my best friends (shoutout Laine Trees and Syd) remarked on how they had been reading my blog/wanted me to write again. How nice it is to have the support of people I love – thanks guys!

I’ve been busy, super busy. Not LiNK busy but still, I haven’t had as much time to myself and that is because, dum dum dummm – I have a job!

It’s a good job too.

Essentially this nomad is no longer restless. I’ve been able to accomplish the seemingly impossible. I have a job & it is one that encourages me to do what I love most in the world – travel! I am a travel consultant!

It’s been about a month since I started my job and I’ve already booked 11 trips. I’m learning so much about the travel industry, myself, and others. My “speciality” is Las Vegas and so I reach out to people every day who have come to my travel agency in order to book travel to Vegas. That being said, I am trained to book any kind of travel, Vegas just seems to be the place that I focus on.

Booking travel is a job that I’ve always wanted. If I can’t travel around the world, then why not encourage others to do so? I really feel like I was in the right place in the right time. Logistically this job is perfect. My bosses are amazing; I feel encouraged every day. I feel like I am on a step in the right direction.

The crazy thing is that even though my job with LiNK was super tough for a variety of reasons, it really taught me a lot. It taught me to be confident, never to get stressed, how to work various systems on the computer, how to be professional, how to act around new people, and how to phone strangers without it being awkward. Some people thought that my choice to work at LiNK was a bit crazy. Sometimes I even thought that myself! But besides meeting some amazing people, I now know why I went – and that was to prepare me for my job now!

Although I’m no longer technically “restless” or a “nomad”, I will still always be one at heart. As much as I love my job, I also can’t wait until I can start planning my next trip! Sooner or later I will be jet setting across the world and even though it may not be for 5 months or a year at a time, I’m still going to love every minute of it.

  1. Isn’t it neat the way God prepares us for what lies ahead (as in your LINK experience preparing you for your travel consultant job)? No experience is a wasted experience. I love reading your blog, too. xoxo
